VOLUME in Church Street is not only a place to find interesting books, it is also the centre of a lively literary community.

VOLUME already have four writing classes organised for 2019. These have attracted a lot of enthusiasm in the past, and would be the perfect present for anyone who wants to develop their writing – whatever stage they are at.

The tutors for 2019 will be poet and poetics scholar CAT WOODWARD, winner of the international 2018 Ivan Juritz Prize; and author, playwright and teacher MICHELANNE FORSTER, who this year wrote and directed Besotted (which was performed at the Nelson Centre of Musical Arts) and collaborated with eight Nelson artists on The Story Inside My Head as part of the Nelson Arts Festival.
