The Nelson Parent and Child Expo 2019 –Event Press Release
30 August 2019
Success as a new team take over The Nelson Parent and Child Expo!
The ever-popular Nelson Parent and Child Expo is bigger and better this year, with the Nelson Venues and Events team taking over the running of it. The 9th annual Nelson Parent and Child Expo will be held at Founder’s Heritage Park on Sunday the 8th of September.
A great day out for the whole family.
Nelson Venues were gifted the expo from the previous owners and have successfully created a community event for a range of children’s ages. The new event planning team has increased the exhibitor numbers to over 50, as well as had some great community support through sponsorship. More FM is sponsoring the main stage, and there will be performances throughout the day, including Suzy Cato and Kath Bee. Suzy Cato will be singing her SEE YA LATER song at the end of the expo 4pm. There is plenty of things to keep the kids busy, bouncy castles, a magic show by Ms Fizzberry, face painting by In Your Dreams Face Painting, and many exhibitors have things for the children to do, including Joy Co, Snapspot, GK Events, Innokids, the Toy Library and more. There’s also the Nelson Tasman Kindergartens Association Kid’s Zone, the Mitre 10 DIY and Trade Zone, the Cure Kids Parents Zone, Barnardos Child-Minding Zone and the Plunket Baby Change and Feeding Zone. It’s going to be a great day!
We have speakers coming in from around the country to educate and empower our adults and children. Including well-known Kiwis, Suzy Cato, Hannah Romano, Nicola Winslade (Virgin Mum), John Parsons, Charley Chop Chop and Karen Tews. There will be a range of topics from a cooking demonstration and getting your kids involved, the importance of maths, online security for our children, dealing with the mum guilts, grief on losing a child and the importance of play, dirt and fun for both children and adults. The values of the expo is to equip, empower and excite and Nelson Venues and Events are excited to see it come to fruition.
Keeping in line with the previous event management team, the tickets are FREE to the community until the day before the event (Saturday 7th September). Door sales are $5 per adult. Children between 0 – 16 years do not need a ticket. All door sale proceeds will be given to a local charity, this year the Helping Families Nelson charity has been chosen.
Over 1000 tickets have been “sold”, so with children not needing a ticket the Nelson Venues Team are expecting well over 1500 people into Founder’s park on Sunday 8th September.
If you haven’t registered for your ticket, head to the event website:
