Lea Boodee, Managing Director of OnCue Conferences and Nelson Venues & Events is proud to be a finalist for this year’s Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year.
Lea has been at the helm of OnCue Conferences for the past 10 years and has grown the business from three people to 2 teams of more than 15, and is expanding beyond Nelson to greater New Zealand, Australia and Singapore.
Working in a nationwide capacity she has created a regional focus, working alongside the Nelson Chamber of Commerce, Nelson Tasman Civil Defence and taking on community projects such as the Nelson Parent and Child Expo to enhance the Nelson experience for locals as well as draw visitors to the region for the NZ Cider Festival and Marchfest. Lea is passionate about bringing conferences to our region in the shoulder season to provide local business vitality all year round.
Running two businesses Lea is able to see an opportunity, build a team around it and bring it to fruition. Her dedication to her family compliments an incredible work ethic. Her staff say she’s a great boss who always has time for her team to ensure a happy work environment.
The winner will be decided by public vote. The winner from each category will be revealed at the 2019 NPI Chamber of Commerce Business Awards evening on Friday 1 November.
