Real Estate Industry goes virtual – Kat Campbell & Co. Real Estate
The current level 4 lockdown presents an interesting challenge for local Real Estate agents. We spoke with Kat Campbell about how she is adapting and using technology.
KC & CO. are an independent Real Estate company and have been in their new office at 50 Vanguard St for 6 months before the level 4 lockdown situation forced them to re-group.
Kat says, “Being an independent company we have been able to adapt quickly to work from home.”
“A team of 4 is a lot more efficient to reorganise, we have a great CRM system, use cloud servers and hold ‘office’ meetings using Microsoft Teams and social media platforms to catch up throughout the day along with calls and emails to our clients and customers.”
Kat has noticed the market has definitely slowed down in the past 10 days, but remains positive and has approached the situation with ‘virtual’ appraisals and viewings.
“Situations and circumstances are always changing for people – look at the situation now, two weeks ago if you had of said ‘Hey Kat, you won’t be able to leave your house or your ‘bubble’ and you’ll have to look at new ways to conduct your business’ I would of frowned at that. We are getting a steady amount of inquiry for video appraisals from people who were in the process of preparing for sale prior to lockdown, will be relocating in the near future or have had a change in circumstance. The mobile phone is a great tool and the video quality is excellent and works well for the situation that we are in.” says Kat.
With movement in interest rates it may present some good opportunities for home buyers and investors. We need to stay positive and be proactive to our situation.
