The Nelson Farmers Market has Reopened on Wednesday and also Saturday
The Nelson Farmers Market has reopened in Kirby Lane on a Wednesday and it will also open on a Saturday until The Nelson Market resumes.
“We had a first Markets last Wednesday and Saturday and were overjoyed with how they went” states Miriam Clark, Market Manager. It was so lovely to see our customers again and everyone was very respectful and considerate of the operating environment”. Clark notes the primary concern is to provide a safe environment for stallholders and customers so they have spaced out the stalls, introduced contact tracing and strict hygiene practices as well as having 2m social distancing. Entry to the Market is via Bridge Street only. They have also removed the tables so it is a shop and go experience.
The Farmers Market currently has a great supply of fresh local produce and artisan food. Seasonal fruit and vegetables includes apples, pears, quince, fejoas, mandarins, persimmons, pumpkins, cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, silverbeet, parsnips, kumara, potatoes and so much more. Artisan food includes cheese, honey, salami, pastrami, salmon, sausages, vegetarian ‘meat’, olives, sourdough bread etc. They also have a number of stalls selling ready to eat food made using local ingredients.
The Nelson Farmers Market is on Every Wednesday and also Saturday (until further notice) in Kirby Lane from 8.30am to 1.30pm. We hope to see you there.
