A key focus for the Centre’s counselling service is reducing barriers to counselling for women who may have low incomes. We are committed to high quality counselling practice.
The Women’s Centre is curently looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated qualified counsellor to join our existing team of volunteer counsellors. The Counselling Coordinator role is an important part of our counselling team – mentoring student counsellors and leading development of our counselling service.
This role may suit a counselling graduate who is working towards full registration, as there is a requirement to see counselling clients at the centre on a volunteer basis, outside of the four paid hours each week.
You will bring excellent skills in administration (knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential) and have some leadership experience. You must be able to easily engage with a diverse client group. You will build strong relationships with all Centre volunteers and staff.
A flexible, friendly, and professional “can-do” attitude will be key to working effectively with clients, colleagues and our community.
This role is for four paid hours a week (plus some volunteer counselling hours are required) on a fixed-term contract for 12 months. Please email coordinator@nelsonwc.org.nz for a job description.
