Night Vision: Nelson Art Festival
Nelson comes alive on Thursday 1 October as our galleries open late and artists take over the CBD! This one-night-only extravaganza is the opening event of the 2020 Nelson Arts Festival and encourages art lovers and newbies alike to engage in the arts and experience their city through a different lens. A diverse range of art, music, and theatrical events will unfold on and off the streets, in places and spaces you may not even know existed.
Night Vision is a free whānau-friendly event that is new to Nelson Arts Festival in 2020. It is inspired by the international phenomenon White Night (Nuit Blanc), where the city comes to life with art exhibitions, performances, interactive events, installations, and artists-in-residence, all happening in one energetic and transformative evening! Look out for the Night Vision logo in the windows of participating venues and chalked on to the sidewalks, grab a map from a gallery, and explore!
InsideOut’s cast of colourful, dynamic characters will accompany crowds between Night Vision venues. Larger than life and full of funky moves, this quirky cast will be brightening up Nelson’s streets. A Mass Dance Performance will be led by Chloe Loftus, plus more delightful encounters roving the streets.
