Home away from home …..
Palazzo is definitely my “go to” place to stay in Nelson. Second time in this fabulous Motel. From the booking process with Max through to checking in with Robyn it is one of the best experiences I have had across the board – even including hotels. Amenities are superb with the “little touches” that make staying away from home so enjoyable and rooms super clean. Location great – short walk to town. 100% recommend to anyone that is visiting Nelson or its surrounds. I’ll be back!!!

Palazzo Nelson do what should be normal in a motel but is exceptional to find elsewhere. My family and I have stayed there on a few occasions. Despite being from Nelson, its a warm and generous South Island welcome every time we come home. I just notice and really enjoy the difference.
Front desk is a delightful and helpful wife and husband team who own the place, so what they say gets done. Rooms are immaculate. Design is minimal (no clutter and nonsense). Everything works. Really well. Fresh milk in a bottle, every day (remember when milk used to arrive in a bottle, at your letterbox?). Things are understated. Small touches are done well. Always with a light touch. Walking to town and it could rain – umbrella’s left out.
Everywhere is a view. Leave back door open and there’s the Richmond ranges that I used to see everyday growing up in Stoke. Out on the balcony, look out towards the Cathedral and City. Just a brilliant vibe for a drink and nibbles before heading out.

Our new home away from home
Our new favorite place to stay in Nelson. Loved the apartment and all the amenities (especially the spa bath). Room had everything we needed and more. Was able to sleep soundly without hearing a peep from neighboring rooms. The staff/owners went out of their way to look after us.
Bed super comfy, not too soft, not too hard! Kitchen had everything we needed. Loved the glass milk bottles in fridge. Nice touch. Can’t wait to come stay again soon!!! Book in, its worth it.
