Anna Stichbury’s ‘Nelson Pepe’, which arrived this week at Parker Gallery
This is a detail of Anna Stichbury’s ‘Nelson Pepe’, which arrived this week. To transport these works Anna leaves off the outer edge of butterflies so that the support can be easily handled. For the recipients this means spending a little bit of time reinstating the outer edge, matching each Pepe to their numbered position and pinning them into place. Can I just say, I LOVE this process. It requires a huge amount of trust from the artist, but is a lovely unwitting collaboration for the gallery owners as well. I thoroughly enjoyed doing the finishing touches on Thursday and today (Saturday) this work found it’s new home and will soon be flying northwards. Thank you Anna, for your beautiful artworks and the belief you had in me to display those beautiful golden Pepe as you intended! ❤️
