An amazing experience learning about the candle making process: Jude at Living Light

It’s the end of yet another week already! I’ve been to the factory with Lee-Anne so she has had an amazing experience learning about the candle making process. I love an update for me too and come back fizzing with new knowledge to share lol! Beautiful new displays have been created by Tamara with the combination of black, aqua blue, oatmeal and white. Vanilla Sky is burning this week which is a delicious combination of luscious vanilla with orchid notes.
I am on leave until the afternoon of Thursday, 17 June so I leave you all in the very capable hands of Tamara and Lee-Anne.

Something new on the horizon and I just want to share this story with you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Have you ever questioned your life journey and felt like you were falling down a rabbit hole? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The knowing that had kept you going, was beginning to diminish. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometime back, I began to question my direction. I felt alone, overworked, and overwhelmed.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It was Easter Sunday, and I opened my candle gallery for the holiday shoppers. This was after a 50-hour week, but I felt I needed the sales. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The morning was quiet with few customers. Around noon, an older white haired, well-dressed lady came in. I felt a special presence enter with her. I imagined she had popped in on her way home from church. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As I greeted her, our eyes met. It was a sweet moment. Her warm motherly smile gave solace to my spirit and I felt an instant connection. I’ll call her ‘Hope’, for the sake of this memory.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She moved around the gallery with enjoyment picking up candles, admiring and experiencing their colour and scents. After a time, she turned to me and said “Darling, you are making many people happy with your lovely creations.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The significance of her comment touched me deeply. We hugged. It was a beautiful moment.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Hope was gathering her purchases and a few more customers entered the gallery. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As she was leaving Hope said “Darling, I think you should photograph this,” pointing to the Icicle Candle burning on the display table. After serving my customers I went to look. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Icicles burn leaving a lace effect behind. The one Hope was pointing towards had left a lace effect of little angels or people holding hands in a ring around the flame! It was an emotional moment for me. Viewing what the candle had created sent shivers through my body. In that moment, I saw myself as the flame, the driving force, surrounded by my tribe.
Something pivotal in my life journey had just occurred. A message had presented itself and I was filled with a new sense of affirmation. Over the next few days, I reflected on that ‘aha’ moment. I began to feel reassured of my path and purpose. To stop pushing so hard.
I took a pen to paper and asked myself these questions to help create clarity:
What is working? I have everything I need to support me, products, people, and passion.
What isn’t working? I was trying to create everything for everyone, and in the process I was diluting our brand.
What can I do to change this? Focus on quality not quantity.
I’ve realized that my focus is now to bring you the most aesthetically beautiful products that not only look gorgeous but smell exquisite. Carefully curated from the packaging to the product.
I am so excited to bring you on this journey with us. And I can’t wait to share what’s coming up very soon!
