Our glowworm tour is a special experience which will astound and delight night time visitors, literally thousands of bioluminescence points of light generated by glowworms living in the sheltered banks along the pathways of the Sanctuary.
“It was phenomenal! Absolutely brilliant! It was absolutely breathtaking up there last night!!!”
Your glowworm experience starts outside the Visitor Centre at 6.30pm (please arrive 10 mins early); our knowledgeable and friendly guides will meet you. After introductions, and an overview of the Brook Waimārama Sanctuary you’ll soon be on your way.
During the next 90 minutes you’ll get to see and experience the Sanctuary in a way that is completely unlike our day time tours.
Tours are available for groups of 6-12 (min/max), each group is accompanied by two guides. Each child under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult (1:1 ratio) – note, ‘family’ group bookings are permitted with two adults and three children.
Because of the darkness, this tour is not recommended for children in prams or for those in wheelchairs as safely navigating the pathways in the dark may be challenging.
Tours MUST be pre-booked and paid via the form below.
