With Juliet Ayre on violin and Lissa Cowie on Cello, a programme of beautiful music will inspire interest in these two contrasting string instruments.
To celebrate the coming Opera in the Park event (February 2022) Nelson City Council present a series of fortnightly encounters with the world of music and musicians.
Music Mix is intended for Nelsonians who enjoy music but have never had an opportunity to give it a go. Held at Victory Community Centre, these one-hour free encounters will give audiences a chance to listen, talk, learn, perhaps to try an instrument, and hopefully to start a musical journey of their own.
Presented in association with NCMA and Multicultural Nelson Tasman, Music Mix will run every fortnight through the summer (with a break over Christmas) and will feature a wide range of performers and instruments including the Nelson Youth Brass Band, NCMA Schola Musica with their ‘Extreme Violins’, the eastern flavoured music of “Klezoum” and many more.
