An evening with… Sophie Gray | The Destitute Gourmet at Headingly Centre

Following on from our ever popular ‘An Evening with..’ events, we are so excited to be hosting Sophie Gray in Nelson for a fantastic evening of Food, Fun, Learning and Inspiration!
Sophie is the former editor of Food magazine and food director for Bauer media, she is also known as the “Destitute Gourmet”. She is the author of 10 bestselling cook books with a focus on fashionable food that doesn’t cost a fortune.
She has a large dedicated following on social media, Sophie’s passion for the real deal is compelling and her honesty about her own experiences of feeding a family on a low budget are frank and relatable; making her a champion for the average kiwi household and the go to for media comment on food related issues.

Destitute Gourmet came about through Sophie’s experiences of trying to feed two fussy children and two foodie parents on a grocery budget of $60-70 per week. Her background in restaurant cooking enabled her to create delicious tasting, terrific-looking, healthy food from inexpensive ingredients.
Join us for an evening with Sophie, where you will learn the tricks and techniques she has developed over the years. Sophie will demonstrate & cook some of her favourite dishes on the night, which you also will get to sample!
