Matariki for our Tamariki!: Nelson Provincial Museum
Matariki for our Tamariki! ?
Join us at the Museum this week for kids activities marking the rising of Matariki.
Matariki is the Māori name for the star cluster also known as Pleiades. The full name is thought to be a shortening of “Ngā mata a te Ariki Tawhirimātea – the eyes of the god Tawhirimātea”. It is a time to come together and reflect on the past and the future.
We have a range of kids activities on offer; drop in badge making and colouring, Wish upon a Whetū (star), and a kite making workshop, all FREE to Nelson Tasman locals.
For more information, including dates and times, please jump onto the ‘What’s On for Kids’ page on our website: https://www.nelsonmuseum.co.nz/for-kids
We look forward to seeing you there!
