Life Pharmacy Prices – Making a huge difference to Nelson’s health and wellbeing.
Prices Pharmacy is a busy place… it’s something I would liken to a well-oiled machine. There’s a wonderful team that makes it all happen. If you need to pick up a prescription, chat to an expert about make-up, or buy something from their retail shop, it’s a smooth process and you get that personal attention you deserve.
“Pharmacists can help to support the health of your family; they can provide advice and treatment for common minor illnesses for all ages. Pharmacists ensure that prescriptions are dispensed correctly and that the medicine and dose is appropriate for you, so that you receive the maximum benefits from your medicines. Your pharmacist will help you understand what your medicines are prescribed for, how to take them, possible side effects and how to store them.”
All advice and treatment are conducted in a professional and confidential manner and most services are provided free of charge and do not generally require an appointment which is pretty amazing. Just show up when it suits you…
This week we spoke with some of the staff that help make it happen behind the scenes.
Susanne oversees the bigger picture and helps with the Upper South Island stores. They have stores in Marlborough, so she is busy overseeing this aspect.
“I grew up in Germany but travelled to New Zealand in the late nineties. I met a kiwi guy in Golden Bay, and we have been married for 15 years. I was initially trained as a nurse and worked in Golden Bay at the Hospital for a time, but I love my role at Prices Pharmacy in Nelson. I studied for my Master of Business Degree via Massey University and enjoy working with the team at Prices. There is a real happy and professional buzz in the air, and a genuine care for our customers wellbeing.” says Susanne.
Claudia has worked at Prices Pharmacy since she was a teenager. The role has evolved into her ideal job. She is the Retail Manager and makes sure the shelves are fully stocked with the best products. She travelled to the UK for a season but happily returned to sunny Nelson and absolutely loves her role.
“We proudly stock some locally made products from 3rd Generation Deodorants and Bees Brilliance natural products. Our customers love the fact we support local suppliers, and the products are world class.” says Claudia.
Now, you have to meet Nicki! She has worked at Prices for over 19 years! She is the face of Prices Pharmacy.
“I love working here, and some days I have people in the street saying hello and saying thank you. Occasionally it’s locals I recognise from when they were a baby… It feels good knowing we have made such a positive and memorable impact in their lives… People are often in a vulnerable state when they seek health advice and medications, so we build up a close relationship with our regular customers. There aren’t many scenarios I haven’t seen before, and I have a good handle on what to say when asked tough questions by our customers.” says Nicki.
Twenty years ago, Nicki started out working in reception in the health care industry, and it feels like a perfect fit for her experience level and passion to help people.
“We have some wonderful and talented interns working here. Fresh out of uni, they help give us a fresh perspective, which we embrace and put into action.” says Nicki.
