An evening artist talk with Jack Trolove: Refinery ArtSpace
Nelson Pride Inc. and Refinery ArtSpace are thrilled to remind you to join us for an evening artist talk with Jack Trolove!
Jack Trolove is an artist who uses his painting practice to uplift states of transition and in-between-ness. In his artist talk, he’ll share with us how trans-kinships in the natural and ancient worlds, inspire the work he makes.
Jack has been a practicing artist for over twenty years, showing nationally and internationally in artist run spaces, dealer and public galleries. His recent shows exploring trans-kinships through painting, have been held at Te Manawa Museum and Pātaka Art + Museum. He’s excited to be returning to Te Tauihu o te Waka for this event, as it’s where he initially went to art school a few decades ago (at NMIT) and fell in love with painting, feminist punk music, and skateboarding. Jack’s also had the privilege of visiting over the years through work in other rainbow community roles. He currently lives and works in Te Tai Tokerau, near the beautiful muddy waters of the Kaipara.
