Mariposa, the Spanish word for butterfly, is a beloved retail business that has thrived in our region for decades. The new store, ‘Soul,’ offers a wide selection of high-quality, unique footwear and accessories for men, women, and children.
Founded by Tracey Brignole, nearly 20 years ago in Takaka, Mariposa continues to operate three stores there.
It’s been six months since Tracey and the team at Soul opened their new store on Trafalgar Street. The bright retail space, with its colorful shoes lining the walls, creates an inviting atmosphere that draws you in like a magnet.
“The logistical challenge of moving to the new store was quite a mission. Each shoe on display comes with at least seven additional sizes. The team was incredible throughout the journey, and it required a lot of planning.”
“We decided to mix things up and combine our Dragonfly Jewellery and gift range to our Soul store into this stunning new location. We love having more space and have been working hard on the layout. This retail space has plenty of beautiful features and majestic-looking ceiling features that you don’t see these days. Formerly it was the store for Pagani, so it’s got that ‘New York style’ that we love. We have noticed an increase in foot traffic and the locals have given us great feedback on the new store.” says Tracey.
