Glowworm tours are now open for bookings: The Brook Waimārama Sanctuary

Drumroll … the announcement that many of you have been waiting for!
Sanctuary 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗴𝗼 𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲, 𝟵𝗮𝗺 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝟭𝟲 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆). The first available tour date will be Saturday 27 July and twenty-one tours have been scheduled through to 11 September.
Available dates will be:
27, 30 & 31 July
2,3,6,7,9,10,13,14,27,28,30 and 31 August
3,4,6,7,10 and 11 September
Talk to your friends and family to get organised to purchase your tickets on Tuesday! (Tickets are expected to sell out quickly – get in quick to avoid disappointment).
Tour bookings are on a first come, first served basis. Tour groups are for minimum of four (4) people, and a maximum of 12. Tours are dependent on the availability of (mostly) volunteer guides and are weather dependent.
All tours commence 6.15pm at the Sanctuary Visitor Centre for pre-tour briefing.
Tickets can be purchased EXCLUSIVELY through the Sanctuary website. Sorry we are not accepting preregistrations.

2024 GLOWWORM TOURS ARE NOW ON SALE
Our glowworm tour is a special experience which will delight night-time visitors. Experiencing the Sanctuary in the dark is a completely different experience compared to visiting during the day, your senses will be heightened. Smell the forest, hear the Brook Stream gurgling in the background and perhaps hear the occasional hoot of a ruru (morepork), and marvel at the stars in the night sky away from the city lights. You’ll see the glowing bioluminescence points of light generated by the glowworms living in the sheltered banks of the Sanctuary pathways.

For the fourth year in a row our popular tours are now open for bookings on a first come, first served basis. Tours are offered in late July, August and early September.
