« In 2019 I was thrilled to receive the ‘True Young Explorer Scholarship’ through Heritage Expeditions , for a voyage of a lifetime down to the subantarctic islands. The day I got the news, I was working as a zookeeper at Natureland and just sat down to have my lunch! That adventure inspired me to paint these 3 beautiful albatross species, using driftwood found at Tāhunanui beach. I have loved birds my entire life, but visiting Natureland and taking part in their ‘keeper kids programme’ when I was growing up, is what encouraged me to study and pursue a career with wildlife. It’s a pleasure to be able to donate art to help a place dear to my heart. Please buy lots of raffle tickets and give my birdies (and the capuchins!) a new home. »
