Welcome Kirsten Nalder (Ngāi tahu) : Cultural Conversations
Succession planning and stepping aside for others is an important part of our kaupapa. As we farewell 2 wonderful trustees (Ulla and Claire), we welcome Kirsten Nalder (Ngāi tahu) on to our board. Kirsten is currently the manager of SASH Nelson and brings an abundance of experience with her. Lucky us!!!!
Let’s hear from Kirsten herself:
Kia ora Whānau,
Ko Kirsten Nalder Toku Ingoa, I whanau mai au ki Tamaki Makaurau, Inianae e noho ana ahau ki whakatū.
I am Kirsten Nalder, born in Auckland, and happily settled in Nelson Whakatū.
I am privileged to have been invited to join the trustees of Cultural Conversations. The Kaupapa of the work done sits alongside my values of Whānau, Community, Relationship and Whakawhanaungatanga. A community that is open, accessible, diverse and brings with it the knowledge and lived experiences of many to share and enhance the growth of our next generations is a special and treasured Taonga.
During the day you will find me working alongside an amazing team at an NGO based in central Nelson, spending time with my whānau and friends, and generally getting out and enjoying the beauty of Nelson. I bring with me experience from a multitude of different roles and experiences, including running a cafe, working at a large social service provider, governance and board experience and a nerdy passion for all things health (Primary, Secondary, Community).
I look forward to walking alongside Cultural Conversations and being part of the amazing adventures as they unfold from our community that is Whakatū.
