New art for a new season PLUS we introduce sculptor, Pearce Malcolm: Parker Gallery
Here in Nelson, the weather is warming up, the days are stretching out and before we know it we’ll all be spending a lot of time outdoors. If you haven’t considered an outdoor sculpture before, this is the time where they truly come into their own. We currently have a broad selection of outdoor sculptures by Matthew Williams – and will be taking delivery of an impressive 2.6 metre tall kinetic work in the next few weeks (get in touch for further details on this one). We’ve got some great options for interior spaces too… with gorgeous new paintings by Juliet Best, Serena Buonaguidi-Haynes, Clarry Neame as well as mixed media works by Janet Perrior, Maggy Johnston and Bruce Stilwell.
We have also welcomed a new artist to the gallery – Christchurch-based sculptor, Pearce Malcolm. You can read all about Pearce and see his incredible sculptures below. And if all of that isn’t enough excitement, last week we welcomed new neighbours into Wakatu Square in the form of a Conning’s Pop-Up store. For those of you who haven’t heard of Conning’s, it is a boutique grocery store that specialises in fresh paddock to plate produce. Their flagship store is located in Appleby, and we are thrilled that they’ve decided to open a smaller pop-up in Nelson city, right across the road from the gallery. Come and support them if you can… Art & food are a winning combination!
