✨ Today’s Featured Contributor: David Gilbertson
David shared his expert knowledge to identify the schooner in this historic Port Nelson scene:
“David Gilbertson’s Schooner Australian Maid of 1853. Built in Sydney and sailed to Nelson in 1854. Identified by size, rig, missing fore-top mast and his unique style of boatbuilding. Vessel sold to S. J. Maclister at Havelock in 1891 and never heard of again.”
Thank you, David, for adding this valuable detail and enriching our records!
