School Holiday Art Workshops for kids
Looking for a fun and creative way to keep your children busy these school holidays? The Suter Art Gallery’s workshops are the perfect mix of play, learning, and inspiration, drawing directly from the artworks in our exhibitions.
Held in the Mina Arndt Education Room, with views of the Queen’s Gardens and Sculpture Walk, each workshop offers a fresh theme every term. Our experienced tutors guide children through painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media projects, encouraging imagination while building skills in different techniques and styles.
With small group sizes, every child gets plenty of individual attention and support. And because the workshops change each holiday period, there’s always something new to discover.

Upcoming Classes – September 2025
Ink it up:
Have fun experimenting with ink and pens to create a powerful monochromatic design, inspired by the amazing ink drawings of Diane Prince.
Pine Cone People:
Make a three-dimensional character based on the intriguing clay sculptures of Victoria Kostadinova.
Turtles and Eels:
Paint colourful, flowing artworks inspired by the beautiful turtle and eel designs which welcome us to The Suter.

All workshops: 2 hours
Cost: $28.00 per 2-hour class (price includes all materials)
Age: 7-12 years
What to bring: Drink bottle, comfortable closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty
Maximum 12 students per class
