Quiet Korners…

Greeting dear friends & fellow navigators,

Welcome to my world this week. Over the last few days, I have been considering the weight we often carry. Life sometimes feels like a cycle of endless demands. Goals are waiting, dreams chasing us, and deadlines never stop knocking. Everyone expects us to keep moving, keep smiling, and keep achieving.

But the truth is, no matter how strong we appear, there comes a point when the heart whispers: I just need a corner which asks nothing from me. Not even a smile.

So, what does true rest really mean? We often think rest is about sleep or taking a short break. But true rest is deeper than this. It is when the soul feels lighter, when the mind finally stops running, and when the heart gets a chance to breathe without pressure.

True rest is not about closing your eyes; it is about opening your heart. It is not silence from the outside; it is silence inside your thoughts. This kind of rest does not come from vacations or luxury. It comes from allowing yourself a small safe space where you do not need to explain yourself, where you are enough just as you are.

Imagine having a corner where you are completely free. From the roles, from responsibilities, from experiences. In this space, you do not have to be strong, you do not have to put on a smile, and you do not have to pretend everything is fine. You can sit quietly, cry if you need to, write your thoughts down, or simply stare at the wall. This corner becomes a friend, a listener, a soft ground where your tired soul can finally land.

Why do we all need this time? We are not machines. We are human beings with fragile hearts and restless minds. Just like the heartbeat needs a pause between two beats, our lives also need pauses. Without this pause, we burn out.

Think about it: when was the last time you permitted yourself to do nothing? To just sit, without picking up your phone, without planning tomorrow, without carrying guilt? Those tiny pauses are not a waste of time. They are medicine. They are what keep us alive on the inside.

This corner does not have to be big or fancy. It could be:

  • A chair near your window where sunlight falls gently.
  • A bench in the park where you hear the sound of leaves.
  • A small prayer mat where you sit in silence.
  • Or simply a moment inside your heart when you close your eyes and disconnect from the noise.

The beauty of this corner is, it belongs only to you. It does not ask for achievements. It does not ask for smiles. It does not even ask for words.

I call this time returning to myself. In between chasing dreams and meeting deadlines, it is easy to lose yourself. This quiet corner is not about escaping life; it is about returning to yourself. It is where you remember you are not only defined by what you achieve but also by how gently you care for yourself.

Because at the end of the day, success feels empty if your soul is tired and unheard. Peace does not come from doing more; it comes from allowing yourself to simply be. So maybe, in between all the noise of life, we need to pause and whisper to ourselves: I deserve a corner asking nothing of or from me. A place not demanding my energy, does not measure worth, and does not expect a smile.

And when you finally sit there, you realize this quiet corner was not only a place, it was a gift you gave to yourself.

Just few observations again dear friends & provide an opinion in my world. Thank you for stopping by, I appreciate your being here. If my journey encourages you also, all is well with my soul. Looking forward to next week; this is Kenn Butler in Paradise, Nelson with best wishes.
