Experience India- Diwali 2025

Come along and be part of Nelson’s biggest celebration of Indian culture. Hosted by the Experience India team, this joyful, family-friendly festival brings together the colours, flavours, sounds and traditions of India right here in Aotearoa.
What’s Happening: Enjoy live performances and Bollywood DJ music, try colourful Rangoli and cultural crafts, browse market stalls with Indian clothing and jewellery, visit a recreated Hindu temple space, and feast on a vegetarian food fest full of authentic flavours. There will also be a kids’ zone with fun activities for tamariki.
Why Come Along: Diwali is the festival of lights – a time for joy, unity and reflection. This event brings the Nelson and Tasman communities together to experience Indian culture first-hand and celebrate what makes our region beautifully diverse. It’s a celebration open to all – come along and be part of the joy, colour, and connection.
