Commes de Garçons
Steven Junil Park is an artist, designer and maker of functional objects.
Also know as 6×4, his work is coming to Whakatū this month as part of Body Story, an exploration of our bodies and emotions by acclaimed dance artist, Xin Ji.
Born in Korea, Steven grew up in Aoteaora and went to Elam School of Fine Arts, where he started designing and making clothes. He went onto work with creatives in Aotearoa and Paris, including with the fashion house, Commes de Garçons.
Steven’s art practice is influenced by the damaging impact of fast fashion, bringing attention to hand made items created slowly.
Book now to see Steven’s incredible costumes up close in Body Story, Saturday 25th October at the Theatre Royal.
