Whakatū Nelson’s much-loved community event – Mask Carnivale is back on 31st October

Mask Carnivale line up is announced with headline acts Mundi, Coast Arcade, and an teaser from Australian Circus show By A Thread!
This year the Mask Carnivale has a jam-packed line up of incredible acts, bringing Whakatū together for a free evening of live performances, delicious food, music, and fun for the whole whānau.

There’s so much variety on offer: the incredible Twisty Twinz, Sika, Empress Stilt, the Pasifika performance group Auga o Aute, Tarante Italian Dancers, Nelson City Brass Band and Te Pouahi Kapa Haka. Enjoy all your favourites, including the much-loved Mask Parade, The Silent Disco and the Lip Sync Battle, all MC’d by local legend Jasmine Turner.

From 23 October to 2 November, Whakatū will be transformed, as Aotearoa’s longest-running regional arts festival celebrates its 31st year with a line-up rich with powerful stories, exciting new voices and opportunities for connection across music, dance, theatre, circus, literature, community and kōrero.
