Join us from 5 PM this Thursday 23rd October to open John Vea’s exhibition at Refinery ArtSpace.
Seasonal Agreement, by Ōtautahi Christchurch-based mixed-media artist John Vea, explores the complexities facing migrant workers adapt to the hegemonic laws of working in Aotearoa whilst building a sense of belonging after leaving home.
Curated by Nelson Arts Festival, this exhibition will take over all three Refinery gallery spaces.
Vea uses his characteristic humour, alongside video and static installations, to point to the bureaucratic challenges and barriers migrants must navigate to make a living in Aotearoa, while staying connected to their families at home.
