The NBS Nelson Santa Parade is just around the corner – Sunday 30 November

We’re getting excited to bring Christmas magic back to the streets of Nelson!

As we get closer to parade day, we’ll share all the handy info you’ll need, including bus services, road closures, and tips to make your Santa Parade experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

This year, we won’t be running an official Kids’ Costume Competition, as we’re investing in more giveaways along the parade route so everyone can join in the fun! 🎁🥳

But we do invite you to dress up in your Christmas best, whether that’s sparkles, Santa hats, elf ears, or full festive flair. We can’t wait to see your holiday spirit shining! ❤️💚

Come and join in the festive fun at the NBS Nelson Santa Parade. With entertainment and the chance to meet Santa following the parade. Get your business or community group involved for unlimited Christmas fun.​

We are so excited for the 2025 Nelson Santa Parade and we are looking forward to having some of the best floats in the region travel down Trafalgar Street on Sunday 30th November from 1pm onwards.

Nelson Santa Parade Route 2025

Here’s all the ROAD CLOSURE info thanks to Nelson City Council 🙌
There are a handful of road closures around the city centre:
❌Hardy Street
❌Church Street
❌Park Street
❌Trafalgar Street
❌Bridge Street
❌Halifax Street
🚌 eBus Route 1, Route 3 and Route 4 will be detoured. See the eBus website for information.
Rather than struggling to find a carpark, consider taking the bus!
Routes 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be operating from The Brook, Atawhai, Tāhunanui and Berryfields.
✅ The Sunday Markets in Montgomery Square are still going ahead, you will be able to access them from Rutherford Street.
