In the heart of Whakatū Nelson, Nelson Provincial Museum Pupuri Taonga o Te Taiao is a place of discovery and connection. Explore Te Tauihu through compelling stories of the people, places and turning points that have shaped the top of the South Island, alongside stories that continue to unfold today.

Begin downstairs in the Regional Gallery, where the social and natural history of Te Tauihu comes to life. Then head upstairs to the Upper Gallery for changing exhibitions that inspire, excite and surprise.

Welcoming, accessible and family-friendly, the Museum is an ideal destination for whānau, tamariki and curious travellers, whether visiting for the weekend, planning a city break or looking for a school holiday adventure.

Admission:
Admission to the Regional Gallery is free for Nelson Tasman residents and ratepayers. General admission charges apply for visitors from outside the region, and fees may apply to selected temporary exhibitions.
