Maria and Shane have over 50 years of combined experience in the antique trade. They are the owners of eclectic antique centre in Nelson. Their journey began in the early 90’s from their home in Timaru ,going around garage sales and auctions and doing furniture up which was really our training ground for bigger things ahead, Shane says this was way before trademe was around when you could fill your van up with great stuff very cheap.Their business soon grew from the garage into a Large ex St Johns warehouse. In those days there business traded under the name Old and Stylish Antiques
Maria says she loves the thrill of the chase in hunting out great pieces of the past, including victorian ,art deco ,mid century and of course the fantastic retro era.
What you can find at their store in Nelson is an eclectic mix of furniture china glassware ,jewellery ,vintage clothing ,rustic and Industrial , just to name a few.
Their shop collection is mostly stuff that come through the front door from local nelsonians ,auctions ,estate sales, and also stock sourced from the USA.
The Henares travel annually to the States and fill a 40 ft container ,which they load with interesting and unusual Americana treasures to replenish there shop collection.
Eclectic antique Centre has become a popular destination stop for tourist ,collectors ,connoisseurs ,interior designers and bargain hunters.

We buy a large range of antiques from many sources including shipments from the USA. Our inventory ranges from furniture to vintage clothing to jewellery etc.
Eclectic holds annual Pop up shops which set up as a high end -vintage Op shop. we have held these in Wellington/Nelson/Christchurch and they have become very popular events
