The Sanctuary open to Sneak Peek Tours

As you may heard the Brook Sanctuary is busy with a massive monitoring program which will confirm their ‘pest free’ status, and allow them to start reintroducing birds! But in the meantime the Sanctuary remains closed to general admissions while there is so much operational ‘tooing-and froing’ in the Sanctuary.

So, until they are able to open again and after so much positive feedback from the community, the Sanctuary team has put together a range of exclusive guided ‘sneak peek’ tours. The tours are specifically aimed at local Nelsonians and will give visitors a ‘behind the scenes’ view of the Brook Sanctuary, that general visitors don’t usually get to see. “This will be a great way for the Nelsonians to re-engage with the Sanctuary after a long break, and they will be able to see and experience far more than before” said Kat Willcocks, Trust Coordinator.

The tours are open to all ages and ranges of fitness of ability. From a 4WD tour with amazing views to a 4 hour bush walk or family glowworm walk!

All tours will be fully guided and will include interesting bit of the area’s history as well wildlife spotting and info on the management systems within the Sanctuary.
