April is proving to be a very busy month at the Nelson Farmers Market. We have National Farmers Market Week from 6-13 April and lots of activities happening as part of this including a challenge to eat solely from the Farmers Market for a week and lots of free giveaways AND a recipe competition. Read the articles below to find out more. At the end of the month, it is Organic Week so stay tuned for our activities around this.
Autumn is beginning to make its presence felt with some cooler evenings. Foodwise we have finished most of the summer fruit and berries and are transitioning into autumn with a wonderful range of apples and pears. There are still plums available, along with lots of wonderful fresh vegetables. The market also has lots of pumpkins and other members of the cucubitaceae family. It is a great time to pop on down to the Farmers Market and see what is happening each week. We hope to see you there.
