Meet Debra Robson from Pukeko Rental Managers

Born and raised Brisbane girl Debra Robson made the move across the ditch in 2017 with her Nelson born husband and two kids searching for a sea change and more family time. 

Debra grew up in Victoria Point a small Coastal suburb 20km from Brisbane.  After completing school, she moved to Brisbane City to follow her passion in the financial Services and completed a certificate in Bookkeeping to work in accounts and business management roles.

In 2009 Debra met Ollie, a Nelson boy supposed to be passing through Brisbane on his travels and never left. They lived together in Brisbane both working long hours, commuting in busy traffic & raising a family all whilst renovating their home in their spare time.

In 2017 after having their second child they decided the demands of big city living didn’t offer the quality of life for their family they wanted so they sold their business, packed up their home and put their life in a shipping container bound for Nelson. 

Two years on living in Nelson working as a Bookkeeper and self-managing their rental properties Debra realised her passion in this area and willingly branched out to help family and friends manage their investment properties & from here Pukeko Rental Mangers Nelson was born.

“The Pukeko Rental Managers values and philosophies aligned with how I wanted to run my business “we don’t want be the biggest, just the best at what we do.” There is currently 23 Owner operator Pukeko Managers in the North Island and Debra is the first in the South Island.  “I feel that Nelson is a supportive, personal community and I wanted my business to be the same knowing my landlords and tenants personally and having the time to give them all the communication & support they need.”

The Robson’s have loved the move to Nelson spending weekends fishing, paddle boarding or taking advantage of all the amazing biking and hiking trails. “We are outdoors people and love that nothing is ever far away in Nelson”.  It has provided so many more opportunities for us as a young family than we expected. “We have felt welcomed and cherish the time our lifestyle in Nelson allows us with our family in such a great community”

Debra is currently looking for more Rentals properties in the Nelson Region and is offering ”3 months commission free” to any new landlords that sign up with Pukeko Rental Managers in June 2019.
