What’s On July at NCMA

Get your tickets for a range of musical offerings this month. We have something for the very young through to the young at heart this month.

We’re also pleased to list the first concert for season 3 of our lunchtime concert series. Local musicians Craig Duffy, Sally Wastney and Tamsin Leenhouwers will take to the stage in the Recital Theatre on the 25th July.

American Songs and Arias

NCMA accredited teachers Zoë Bennett, Allison Cormack & Erica Sim perform American songs and arias. These beautiful singers will be accompanied by Pauline Boyd.

TrioNique

TrioNique is NZ’s unique professional chamber combination of flutes, saxophones and piano, as played by Clare Penny – flutes, Tomomi Johnston – saxophones, and virtuoso Brazilian pianist Camila Oliveira at the keyboard.

Presenting music by Bach, Bruch, Villa Lobos, Khachaturian and more, all delivered with fun and flair.

New Zealand Guitar Quartet

Four uniquely accomplished guitarists bring an infectious energy to the concert stage. Recently returned from concerts in Australia, China, Mexico and the USA the NZGQ is building an international reputation that transcends borders both geographically and stylistically. Their performances of classical, contemporary and world music continues to engage audiences from all walks of life.

CANZ Opening Concert

The 2019 CANZ Nelson Composers Workshop presents ‘Celebrating 80 Years with John Rimmer’, a concert celebrating John Rimmer’s 80th year, and the workshop’s 38th. The concert will feature numerous compositions by John Rimmer, tribute pieces dedicated to him, and a selection of pieces from this years mentor composers.
