Dun Mountain Trail will be renamed Coppermine Trail | Nelson Tasman Cycle Trials

From today the Great Ride known as Dun Mountain Trail will be renamed Coppermine Trail. The new name applies to the full loop as one New Zealand’s Great Rides, while the section from Brook Street to Coppermine Saddle, following the route of the historic railway, will remain known as the Dun Mountain Walkway. Contractors have today replaced the signs along the trail.

Maintenance and improvements to the trail surface are continuing on the downhill section of the trail from Coppermine Saddle to Maitai South Branch and on the Maitai Pipeline trail from Maitai Dam to Smiths Ford. These works will be completed in time for summer.
