It’s always interesting asking local business operators how they ended up…
The life of Louis- written by Nicola Zielinski- Workbridge Nelson
Supported by Pooja Thakkar and Belinda Harte
Louis Allais registered with Workbridge in December 2017 and what a remarkable journey he has had with us.
Louis was supported by Pooja Thakkar in his preparation for employment including CV and interview preparation and during that time Louis was successful in gaining employment as a bottle line assistant with McCashin’s Brewery.
Louis lives with cerebral palsy which means that processing new information is sometimes difficult. Louis was very shy and anxious when he first joined Workbridge but now he has blossomed with confidence and is a real character when he call’s into see the team at the Nelson Workbridge office.
Pooja Thakkar stated:
“Louis is the most amazing and positive jobseeker I have every worked with. It has been such an amazing time working with him and seeing him grow”
“I remember Louis when he came to the office for the first time, he was shy, nervous and anxious. When I look at him now, he is confident, funny and not afraid to be independent”
Louis is so grateful for the post placement support he has received from Belinda Harte to remain in employment with McCashin’s Brewery. On his 12 month anniversary of being in work he was actually on an amazing adventure in Europe with his father but he took great pleasure in returning to Nelson to celebrate his success and have a cup of Earl Grey tea with Belinda and Nicola on the Workbridge Team.
Louis recently in December 2019 a whole 2 years after receiving support from Workbridge attended the Community and Whanau meeting hosted by Volunteer Nelson and shared his story. He stood independently and spoke with real confidence to a room of around 50 people. Louis made everyone smile that day and the whole community wishes Louis success in his future goals.
