“I source my clothing from regions outside of Nelson, so it means I have a great range of eclectic and funky clothes, Jewellery and Stylish shoes that you won’t find elsewhere.” says Claire.

Lady Mux is located in the Marble Arch Arcade, 167 Hardy St mall entrance. (opposite the Provincial Museum)

It’s an intimate space where shoppers can browse and try on a great selection of clothes, jeans, shoes and jewellery. It’s a beautiful thing when someone discovers an item that they have been looking for ages… and it’s right there, a one off, in their size too. It’s actually quite a magical experience.

“The low priced/mass produced garments don’t look so great after a few wears and a hard session in the washing machine can leave it looking limp and fluffy. The benefits of buying good quality, pre-loved clothes is that they are unique, and last longer. It certainly feels good to know I’m not contributing to toxic landfill.” says Claire.

Claire has travelled extensively overseas and worked in the hospitality industry in Scotland, before deciding to make her dream into a reality and start her boutique pre loved clothing shop in Nelson. She has 2 kids and loves living in the sunniest region in the country.

“The locals are really supportive and love a bargain. It’s neat to give these beautiful garments and accessories a completely new life.”
