Holiday Happenings at The Nelson Farmers Market
There is lots happening at the Nelson Farmers Market on 15 July as part of their Mid-Winter School Holidays promotions. Pop on down and see what takes your fancy this week. The Nelson Farmers Market operates every Wednesday in Kirby Lane from 8am to 1.30pm.
Cooking Demonstrations
The Farmers Market is holding cooking demonstrations on 15 July from 11.30am to 12.30pm. On 15 July, Sally Rees, of Natural Nosh will give a raw food demo. This is a great chance to learn some new recipes using Market ingredients.
Eat Solely From the Market
In Spring 2019, the Nelson Farmers Market Manager set a challenge to eat solely from the Nelson Farmers Market for a week. This was so popular that it is being repeated from 15-22 July. This will showcase Market ingredients and give an example of how we can eat seasonally. A full weekly meal plan and recipes will be available on the website and there will also be limited printed copies for sale at the Information Tent.
Loyalty Card
The Farmers Market launching a loyalty card. After 8 visits people receive a $5 voucher to the Market. To sign up please see the Manager in the Information Tent. The first 20 people to sign up receive a pack of Koanga seeds.
Co-Op Stall
An very exciting new development has been the introduction of a Co-Op stall. This will contain the products of up to 8 different artisan producers. Currently available is an impressive selection of tea from Heke Homemade Herbals, organic dried fruit and apple cider vinegar from Little Shaggery Farm, Pinoli Pinenuts and muesli and gluten-free granola from Morena Breakfast Cereals.
