Award Winning Products at Nelson Farmers Market
Did you know the Nelson Farmers Market has several award winning stalls? They are so lucky to have so many exceptional growers and producers in one place.
Viavio Cheese is a multi award winner dating back several years. Their most recent awards were at the 2020 Cheese Awards. They won five gold medals for their burrata, mascarpone, pecorino, stracchino and mozzarella. They also won the Trophy Award for the best NZ made Italian fresh cheese for the second year in a row. A massive congratulations for this outstanding achievement.
Recently The Vegetarian Butcher placed runner up with her breakfast sausage at the NZ Vegan Sausage Awards and Kakariki Olives won the gold medal at the 2020 New York Olive Oil Awards for their mediterranean blend.
Kaikoura Cheese have won several awards, the most recent being a gold medal in the NZ Food Awards, 2020 for their laugesen cheese. Heke Homemade Herbals, which is stocked at the Co-Op stall, have also won several awards at the NZ Food Producer Awards.
Over the previous years, FRUT 4 U Lowes Orchard has won several prizes for their fruit and fruit juice at the Farmers Market NZ Food Awards, as have Enzee Honey for his beech honey and Nutt Ranch for their spicy hazelnuts.
