Shoe Clinic – the best-fit matters.
Shoe Clinic is located at 84 Bridge Street, and they’ve been helping Nelsonians select the best footwear to help them walk or run with ease for 15 years. It’s amazing to see how technology has enabled us to measure the foot like never before.
There’s a lot to consider when buying your exercise shoes especially if you are suffering from pain or injury, so that’s where they use the latest technology to help take the guesswork out of it.
There’s a 3D foot scanner that you stand on, it shows your foot posture, arch height and takes an exact measurement of each foots length and width. Then an electronic footpad is placed on the floor for you to walk or run over and it measures your foot pressure points as well as showing the way your foot naturally rolls when in motion. The video treadmill analysis takes video footage of you walking or running enabling them to closely assess your foot and lower leg alignment to help confirm they’ve selected the very best shoe option for you.
Brett is the owner of Shoe Clinic Nelson and comes from a Physiotherapy background. He’s worked overseas in both the USA and the UK with his wife, who runs a busy Physiotherapy practice at the Wakefield Medical Centre. They moved to Nelson from Blenheim because they believed in the concept behind Shoe Clinic, which was ground-breaking when it started back in the late nineties.
“Shoe Clinic is a national franchise that started in Wellington. My Nelson store was the 7th in the country and now there are 19 nationwide. Each store is 100% NZ owned and operated. We also work closely with Podiatrists and other medical professionals as part of a multidisciplinary approach to help get people back exercising comfortably. We always say to our customers, Don’t pick a shoe, let a shoe pick you! It highlights the importance of getting the best fit for you as no two feet are the same. Analyse first, then let the skilled team make suggestions. This is a free service and we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. That’s how much we believe in our fitting process.” says Brett.
Shoe Clinic has a wide range of shoes, and exercise wear. They currently employ 5 staff and they know their stuff.
