Celebrating Women in Sport and Business: Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce
The Black Ferns and Barbarians are in town for a rugby game on Saturday 21 November!
But first… the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce ‘Celebrating Women in Sport and Business’ Luncheon will be held at 1pm on Thursday 19 November at the Trafalgar Park Pavilion.
Hosted by the Tasman Rugby Union, this business lunch is a chance to hear from Cate Sexton, Head of Women’s Rugby at NZRU, followed by an exclusive opportunity at 2pm to watch the Black Ferns training down on Trafalgar Park from the prime vantage point of the sheltered pavilion balcony.
Cate Sexton is a former first-class netball player, and has worked for High Performance Sport New Zealand and New Zealand Cricket, as well as two stints as Black Ferns’ Team Manager.
Cate oversees six Women’s Rugby Development Managers and has overall responsibility for the development and health of the entire women’s game in New Zealand, including the implementation of It’s Our Game – the seven year Women’s Rugby strategy. Cate and her team are committed to providing and researching playing, coaching and refereeing opportunities for women and ensuring all of rugby recognises the value of “more women, playing more”.
Come along to enjoy a special lunch ‘Celebrating Women in Sport and Business’ and hear the talented Cate Sexton speak about women’s rugby in New Zealand.
