Tuku 21 Whakatū Heritage Month
Help bring a piece of Nelson’s past into the present with an event in the upcoming Tuku 21 Whakatū Heritage Month.
Grants of up to $2000 are available now for creative individuals and organisations with ideas to host events or activities in the upcoming event, which takes place every year in April.
Events must have a focus on heritage through stories of people and place, and be open to the public.
Applications close at the end of January, so submit your proposal on our website
Tuku 21 Whakatū Heritage Month is this year’s celebration of our rich and varied culture and history.
In April 2021, lookout for community activities that celebrate our cultures, our past and our people. Tuku 21 will see many organisations and community groups running their own events supported by Nelson City Council.
We are calling for event hosts to present their events and, if required, apply for financial assistance from the Nelson Heritage Festival Grant Fund.
Event applications will be assessed at the start of 2021 and be added to the April 2021 programme for promotion if supported by the selection panel.
