Push / Pull is a workshop in two parts.
Push challenges participants to push their work (including research, ideas, process, experimentation and thinking) to its limits. Be it experimentation with scale, deepening and/or broadening research, challenging thinking or process, broadening experimentation etc… Through the expansion of thought, possibilities and options more facets are looked at and considered which challenge and clarify the many decisions involved in making.
Pull is a process of clarification, editing, refinement and reduction, Work, research, process and concept is refined, pulled back in; reduced to the essence – to the essence of what is wanted to be said and to that which is important to the work. All unnecessary elements and noise is removed.
The workshop is suitable for makers of varying stages of practice/ability so long as you have making practice/experience/knowledge as you will be extending from your prior making/works.
Bring: examples of previous work, some unfinished works, any unresolved pieces your usual working/making materials and tools, sketchbook, pens, pencils, eraser for note taking and drawing (usual jewellery workshop tools will be available)The workshop is limited to 10 people.
Cost: $300

Judy Darragh Masterclass – SLAP STICK
SLAP STICK is a two-day workshop exploring the use of non-traditional materials in body adornment.
Using a wide range of found and upcycled materials we will experiment with combinations of unlikely materials and textures to make forms to adhere to the body. The methods of attachment will be explored and the placement around the body need not be the traditional sites for display.
The idea is to question ideas of jewellery and what is wearable.
Bring a camera or phone to document experiments and outcomes.
The masterclass is limited to 10 people.
