Parking on the Day
Parking is free. We are expecting a lot of people and cars to come on the day, so please be aware that there will be traffic marshalls directing cars to specific areas below the actual Sanctuary precinct. As cars will be parking in the Brook Valley Holiday park, we need to be respectful of this. Only park where directed.
A big thanks to Pics Peanut Butter as our principal sponsor for the event
The Fun Runs
These Fun Runs are organised in collaboration with Waimea Harriers and Nelson Athletics. It is the first time we have included a run in our Open Days. We are very grateful to these organisations for their expertise and knowledge in making these two runs possible. The Brook Waimārama Sanctuary hopes that these will be the first of many more in the future.
The first run is the RWCA Sanctuary Fun Run
Nelson Athletics are managing this
it starts at 10.30 am
it is a total of 10 kilometres long
the run starts and ends at the Sanctuary
we encourage runners and walkers to tackle this run. It is suitable for all levels of fitness and age, although there are steep stretches that some people may have to walk
there are fabulous views to see on the way!
there will be spot prizes for some lucky people
there is an entry fee of $20 per person for the Sanctuary Fun Run, which will need to be paid prior to starting the run. Please note, cash only
come a bit early to sort your registration
