Nelson’s Suter Art Gallery Te Aratoi o Whakatū is looking for an entrepreneurial and strategic thinker with strong financial skills who will maximise revenue generation through a successful programme of commercial activities and events which grow and develop the patronage, profile and resources of this public art gallery.
With your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills you will inspire, motivate and develop a small successful team to deliver excellent customer service and meet the objectives of the organisation.
You will be responsible for overseeing all commercial activity at the Gallery that includes retail operations, leases and venue hire, support for fundraising, grants, sponsorship and patronage as well as development of new commercial initiatives.
Experience as a financial manager, with a sound understanding of business best practice, negotiation skills and preferably some interest in the arts or tourism sector are essential. Commercial acumen in a small business or not for profit sector would be an advantage together with strong IT skills.
The Suter is a charitable trust and a Council Controlled Organisation.
