Nelson pianist Zeb Wulff will be performing a juxtaposition of old and new music from renaissance to the late 20th century

Live Lounge Sessions: Mister Nobody
Mister Nobody has his guitar and returns to Nelson with a solo set of dynamic and engaging batch of songs. You will hear popular music with jazz, blues and funky grooves all played in acoustic guitar beauty and biting electric.

The Shades Gratitude Tour
The Shades are touring their long awaited new album release titled Gratitude. The album will be toured across 5 cities in NZ and the evening will share songs from this new album, stories from their recent time in New York (pre and post Covid) and the reason for the album.

NCMA teacher Margarita Jackson is joined by pianist Josie Yau for a wonderful programme of music by Bloch, Suk and Elgar.

Live Lounge Sessions: Django Schmango
Django Schmango are a Hot Club style group of local musicians. Get your swing on for a crossfire of stunning solos, breathtaking rhythms and constant invention, performed with verve, skill and an obvious pleasure that’s irresistible to jazz and non-jazz listeners alike.

Mid-Winter Music
Nelson College for Girls with the Preparatory School are proud to present a concert of beautiful music to warm your soul on a cold winter’s night.
Come and listen to their choirs, orchestra, chamber music groups and soloists display their virtuosity, with challenging repertoire from Bach to modern classics.

Hatching, Matching and Dispatching
The concert will commence with excerpts of Hayden’s Creations and conclude with excerpts from Mozart’s Requiem. In between we celebrate NZ composers, Dorothy Buchanan and Chris Artley’s Missa Brevis and well as a selection of other well-known works. We will also share our concert with the Male Voice Choir, Naycol Chorale, Alan Gray and Lissa Cowie.

Chamber Music New Zealand presents Fantasy and Romance
Be transported to other worlds with the sublime marriage of flute, oboe and piano.
Breathing new life into some of Schumann and Fauré’s most beloved romantic works for chamber ensemble, Melanie Lançon and Bede Hanley partner with the inimitable Stephen De Pledge to whisk you away on flights of freedom, fantasy and romance.

Composer and guitarist Brett Holland returns home, performing instrumental gems and vocal pieces. He draws material from his four albums in an acoustic and electric format.

Celtic Pipe Band JOURNEY
Join the Celtic Pipe Band as they display an afternoon of entertainment, with performances of both traditional and contemporary music from the past and present featuring special musicians, dancers and more. Come and enjoy JOURNEY – a fundraising concert to help the Celtic Pipe Band continue into the future.

Natania is a Nelson grown musician who is in her first year of studying a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Classical Performance at Victoria University of Wellington. She will be accompanied by David Codd.

Live Lounge Sessions: Tessa Q + 2
Jazz singer Tessa Quayle will be joined by Nelson’s one and only Doug Stenhouse on keys and Jim Boyden on drums. This group was specially formed for this Live Lounge session and will be sure to play some classic swinging jazz!

The Kids Sing
Young singers are set to shine on stage at The Kids Sing festivals all around New Zealand in 2021. Twelve school choirs from Nelson/Tasman will be performing two contrasting songs and a massed choir song “I Love Life” by local songwriters Kath Bee and Doug Stenhouse. Each day the students will be rehearsing their songs and learning some new choral skills. In the evening they will be performing all their songs for their parents and friends in the NCMA Auditorium.
