Hey Nelson! Great news! Your favourite cinema is open now! We are hard at work right now putting together movie schedules, arranging new socially distanced footpaths in and out of the building, and gearing up for daily life in our masks!

We ask that you take a good look at our operating guidelines under the “new” Level 2 – and remember that we are here for YOU. With your help, we can keep our doors open, keep our community safe, and keep showing phenomenal films!

Our staff will be manning the doors in and out of the building so as to comply with the new capacity limits, and looking after you as you join us for “Delta Level 2” screenings – so please, be patient and let us help you the best way we can ???

Thanks so much for bearing with us while we gathered ourselves to open the doors! We know you’ll probably have burning questions about Refunds and Swaps for tickets purchased during lockdown – and here it is!

We are honouring refunds and swaps for all tickets purchased for sessions between the 18th of August and the 9th of September – including tickets purchased for JUNGLE CRUISE and SUMMER OF SOUL that were meant to show on the 9th and 11th of September.

If you require a refund:
You can visit us at State Cinemas, or send us an email to events@statecinemas.co.nz to begin the process. We are processing all refunds via bank transfer, and we need a few details from you to make that happen!
We require your name, contact details (including an email address for your receipt!) proof of your booking (this can be your booking reference number, your transaction number, or your physical tickets) and your nominated bank account for remittance.

If you would like to swap:
You can visit us at State Cinemas, and our friendly staff will exchange your tickets from L4 for a new session. If you can’t get in for any reason, send us an email to events@statecinemas.co.nz to begin the process and we will make a note of your request to swap and honour this as soon as you can visit us.

We are working through a backlog of requests at the moment, and ask that you bear with us as we manage the refunds. Thanks for your patience, we are working hard to make this as painless as possible! ?

Tickets go on sale on Tuesday for the NZ premiere date of the 16th of September!
