Looking for the perfect bedside lamps?: Storey Home Collection
Looking for the perfect bedside lamps?
Here are some handy guidelines when choosing your bedside lamps, to help create a balanced look while also providing great functionality!
– The lamp base should be roughly one-third the width of the bedside table when measured at the lamp’s widest point.
– You don’t want the light to be shining over your head, nor do you want it right in your eyes. Assuming that your bedside table is the same height as your mattress (or within a couple of centimetres), look for a lamp the same height as your bedside table plus an extra 5cm or 10 cm. This creates a balanced look between your bedside table and table lamp.
– For lampshades, it is suggested that the lampshade is twice as wide as the lamp base, and one third the height of the lamp base.
– For the best bedtime reading, the base of the lampshade should be roughly level with your eyes while sitting up in bed.
These are just general guidelines, and there are always exceptions to the ‘rules’.
