Kahu and Alyahna
Alyahna Sanson-Rejouis (aka IMANI-J) writes and performs her original songs in Te Reo, English and French. Often accompanied by her cousin, Kahu Sanson-Burnett (aka Kahu-SB), an accomplished guitarist, composer and producer, these two are an emerging tour de force on the Nelson music scene.

Both attended Nelson Central School’s Te Pouahi bilingual unit, and were involved in primary school Kapa Haka, choir and band. These opportunitIes alongside lessons in piano, guitar, singing and music production have nurtured their musical creativity.

Currently in Yr 9 at Nelson College for Girls, Alyahna’s acoustic singer/songwriter style is a blend of pop and rock. She cites her everyday experiences as the inspiration for her lyrics. Kahu is in Yr 12 at Nayland College, lead guitarist in the band Parallel Park, and devotes many hours a week to honing his musical craft.

Both are now stepping up to do public performances, courageously sharing their passion for music.
